Peggy has been an artist all her life, beginning with oil painting lessons at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto as a teenager in an adult class where she excelled right away. She focused in her early twenties on portrait painting where she became renowned as a pastel portrait artist. Married to a man who had many career moves, Peggy ended up in the United States where she expanded her creative endeavors to include pottery and sculpture. She always expressed and resolved her innermost challenges through writing and in the eighties she published these writings in her first book, Very Much a Woman’s Book. The success of this book went on to become the founding of her publishing company, Art After Five, where she published seven more books on the subject of feelings.

Very Much a Woman’s Book began with a visit to a bookstore, looking for something special to give a friend. When Peggy descrisbed to the sales clerk the type of book she was seeking, the sales clerk replied, patting her heart, “The book you’re looking for is not on ours shelves, it’s in here.”

Agreeing with this insight, Peggy gathered together her favorite personal writings, drawings, and thoughts. She bundled the pages and tied them with a ribbon.

Her friend was absolutely delighted with this gift of the heart, and asked Peggy to please keep sharing! And so she has. Some of her other books can be seen on the book page of the site. There will be a new one added in the early Spring of 2010. Peggy can also be booked for speaking engagements which she has enjoyed in her travels over the years.

Though Peggy Warren originally hailed from Canada, she has lived and gratefully achieved her success most of her adult life in the United States with her husband, Ted. She is mother to three grown children, has two grandchildren, and resides in the small historic mining town of Eldora, near the Continental Divide just west of Boulder.
